In Polop you will find a historic town with interesting well maintained rural houses, Polop is widely known for one of it's main tourist features, the ''chorros'', a town square filled with 221 taps from which fresh spring water flows straight from the mountains.

Nearby is the " sleeping lion " a nearby mountain , which from a distance looks like a lion lying down. A lot of the towns locals and people from nearby visit this mountain on hikes or nature trails.

The local fiestas del Porrat are also held in August, these fiestas are the most participative where a large number of ''peñas'' formed by the festive council , enjoy the parade , the offering parade, humor parade and evening performances , both orchestras and bands.

Polop used to be a small town back in the day, but like it's neighbouring town La Nucia, Polop has grown significantly in recent years, increasing housing and property development. Many urbanizations have been constructed over the years, making Polop a much demanded place to live. Polop is only 15 minutes away from Benidorm, which makes it attractive to people who want to be near everything but live surrounded by peace and quiet.
