About Altea:

 

Considered one of the most beautiful towns of the Costa Blanca, Altea  is by far a must see. You can enjoy a  walk through the cobblestone streets of this city of  the Costa Blanca. Full of white houses adorned with colorful flowers , visitors can admire other attractive sights like the Altea Church, with it's beautiful blue dome, it is one of the main features of this coastal village, Also a  must see is the Palau de  Altea , a cultural and congress center where some works like a Picasso etching is shown and is also the venue where concerts, operas, ballets  and theater performances are held regularly.

 

Other attractions are the Isleta, a small island located about five hundred metres off the shore of Cap Negret, the Mascarat beach and the Puerto Deportivo Campomanes, Cap Blanch, linking with Albir , and Roda , the busiest beach of all .

 

You can stroll amongst Altea's beautiful cobble strone streets or it's  sea front and enjoy a glass of wine or some tapas ideally close to the promenade, where in the summer months you will find craft stalls selling hand made goods.

 

As for other calendar of events, festivals include Midyear Moors and Christians , held in February, the feast of the Holy Trinity in the neighborhood Bellaguarda , which takes place in June , as the San Antonio in Cap Blanch and San Juan fiestas which coincide with the summer solstice . Other festivals are San Pedro , the Virgen del Carmen ,and various other patron saints festivities,as well as the Moors and Christians which take place in September.
